Mickey Zhou
Dentist
BDS (Otago) | PGDipClinDent (Periodontology)
Tell me more
A 2010 Otago graduate, Mickey began his career as a house surgeon before moving into private practice — building a clinical foundation in managing dental emergencies and patients needing oral surgery. He is a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, and has since completed extensive postgraduate training in orthodontics, endodontics, implant therapy, and cosmetic dentistry. In 2025, he was awarded his Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Periodontology) from the University of Otago.
That depth of training shapes everything about how Dentist on Shakespeare operates. Problems are carefully diagnosed, treatment decisions are anchored in current evidence, with your long-term dental health guiding every decision. For many patients, this means complex care that would otherwise require a specialist level care can be managed in-house — with the continuity and context that makes a real difference to outcomes.
Mickey’s approach is methodical and detail-oriented, with a quiet focus on getting things right. Outside the clinic, he can be found working on cars — a different kind of problem-solving that he loves. Mickey speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Irin Kang
Dentist
BDS (Otago)
Tell me more
A proud North Shore local and Westlake Girls alumna, Irin earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction from the University of Otago in 2013. From there she went straight to work as a house surgeon at Wellington Hospital before moving to fast-paced urgent care private practice, where she developed a strong foundation in managing dental accidents, medical emergencies, and patients with complex health needs.
Combined with advanced training in orthodontics, oral surgery, and implant surgery, Irin brings a level of clinical depth that allows her to handle a wide range of cases with calm and confidence. She will take the time to walk you through everything, so you wouldn’t ever leave feeling uncertain.
You will find Irin warm and bubbly, instantly approachable. She has a genuine gift for putting nervous patients at ease, and her gentle, considered approach makes even the trickiest treatments feel manageable. When she’s not in the clinic, Irin loves travelling overseas and discovering new places with her husband and young child. Irin is bilingual in English and Korean.

Albert Yen
Dentist
BDS (Otago)
Tell me more
An Auckland local, Albert graduated from the University of Otago in 2010 and went on to spend a decade as lead dentist across two busy private practices — building the kind of easy, unhurried confidence that only comes with real experience.
Restorative and cosmetic dentistry is where he’s most at home. Albert has a genuine eye for aesthetics and fine detail and approaches each case with the same care and creativity he brings to everything else in his life — he sees a great smile the way an artist sees good work.
When he’s not in the clinic, he’s hunting down Scandinavian furniture, perfecting his coffee order and running his little gem of café on K Road, Daily Daily. He has an eye for quality in everything — and for his patients, it’s no exception.

Laiosha Stringers
Hygienist
BOH (AUT) | | PGCertHealSci in Adult Restorative Dental Care (Otago)
Tell me more
Laiosha has been caring for patients’ smiles for over 15 years, graduating from AUT with her Bachelor of Oral Health in 2010 before building experience across both the public and private sectors. Most recently, she completed postgraduate Adult Scope studies at the University of Otago — because when it comes to her patients, she’s always looking to give more.
As the practice’s Oral Health Therapist, Laiosha is your first line of defence in preventive care. She takes the time to explain the why, the how, and the when — tailoring every appointment to your comfort, expectations, and clinical needs. Patients leave not just with cleaner teeth, but with a clearer understanding of how to keep them that way.
Outside the clinic, Laiosha is a passionate rose grower and sits on the committee of the Auckland Rose Society. Her warmth and infectious energy make her a natural with patients of all ages, and her commitment to every person she sees is second to none.
